Community Service Projects
As part of the MOMS Club service project, our chapter has been involved in various endeavors to help our local women’s shelter here in Eagan. We currently bake cakes for children’s birthdays at the shelter as well as collect monthly donations.
You can help with their on-going needs!
Non-Perishable Food:
Condiments (mayo, ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, etc.)
Canned Veggies (we use 6-10 cans per meal, corn is a favorite)
Move-Out Kits:
Dakota Woodlands provides a move out package for each resident when they move to their new home. The packet includes a laundry basket, small cleaning bucket, sponges, all purpose cleaning spray, small laundry detergent, broom, dust pan, dish soap, one roll of paper towel and 4 pack of toilet paper.
Greeting Cards:
Each child who stayed with Dakota Woodlands last year receives a birthday card. A "welcome to your new apartment" card is also sent to each family. They typically need cards for all occasions for residents. If you have cards to share they’d love to have you donate them.
Incentive Items:
Dakota Woodlands' resident store always needs certain items… silverware, drinking glasses, pots and pans, sets of dishes, cereal bowls, shower curtains and rings, kitchen towels are some of the items regularly needed. There is always a need for items for older school-aged children, including teens.
Gift Cards:
Gas station gift cards to assist with resident transportation needs. They also take groups of children to McDonalds or Burger King play stations and love gift certificates for a treat. They plan a monthly mom’s night out for just adults and staff to have one special day per month. The children are cared for back at Dakota Woodlands. They would appreciate gift cards to Regal or Marcus Theatres, pizza places, Cedarvale, Cold Stone, Dairy Queen or other fun places. They buy much of their groceries from local stores such as Rainbow, Cub or Sam’s Club in addition to the Second Harvest Food Bank, so gift cards to any of those stores are greatly appreciated.
